The biggest social network

Most people I know live in a bit of ignorance when it comes to crime. We live in society that craves comfort and crime just is not comfortable. I found a good look at crime though and how it all flows through the world. A friend directed me to this chart and I thought it was to cool not to share. Although Im not sure how accurate all the information is, it is incredible to see how big of an industry crime is. I am of the belief that crime stems from poverty and evil, making a problem that affects even the most affluent and comfortable of people. Hope

There is a story about a little child who was surrounded by starfish on a beach. He was throwing them one by one as an old man approached.After asking what he was doing the little boy replied saying that "If I dont throw them in, they'll die." The old man realized that the little boy could never save them all and pointed this out. The little boy in turn picked one up, threw it into the ocean and declared that he had made a difference for that one starfish. Current social justice issues are the same way, we can make a difference for at least one person, and maybe if we all work together that number will multiply. I am hopeful that we can help the starfish of this world: poverty, sex trafficking, drug wars and other injustices.
